Terms & Conditions

Please ensure you review our terms and conditions for a clear understanding of our trade services and your rights.

1. DEFINITIONS

  • Client means the individual, company, or representative to whom this quotation is addressed, including the owner or occupier of the premises where work will be undertaken.

  • Service means any goods, materials, and associated fittings supplied or installed by Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd.

  • Agreement refers to the contract formed upon acceptance of the quotation and includes these Terms and Conditions.

2. ACCEPTANCE

  • This project request will not be processed without formal acceptance of the quotation and agreement.

  • If the person signing this agreement is not the property owner, they warrant that they are authorised to act on the owner’s behalf and bind them to these terms.

3. QUOTATION VALIDITY

  • Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. reserves the right to amend or withdraw the quotation after this period unless otherwise agreed in writing.

4. LEAD TIMES

  • Standard lead time is approximately 3–4 working weeks from site measure. This may vary depending on workload, supply chain, or other factors, and must be reviewed and confirmed at the time of order.

5. PAYMENT TERMS

For Existing Clients with Approved Accounts:

  • Payment is due according to the agreed credit terms.

For New Clients:

  • As outlined in your quotation, a 30% deposit must be paid when you accept the Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. quote before any work begins.

  • All invoices are due 7 days from the date/claim of the invoice.

  • A “New Client” is someone who has not completed a full payment cycle (deposit + balance) with us before. Once they have completed their first job, they become an “Existing Client” and standard credit terms apply.

For Existing Clients:

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. will submit monthly progress claims, each with an invoice.

  • You must provide a payment schedule within 10 days of receiving each invoice.

  • All invoices must be fully paid within the agreed Payment Terms of the approved Client account.

These payment terms comply with the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act 2002.

If payment is not made:

  • Work on your project may be suspended.

  • We may take legal action to recover the outstanding debt.

  • Interest of 10% per year may be charged on any overdue amounts.

  • We may reclaim any materials or products supplied to your site that remain the property of Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. until full payment is received, even if they have been installed.

6. OWNERSHIP AND RISK

  • Ownership of goods remains with Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd until full payment is received.

  • Risk in the products passes to the Client upon delivery or installation and sign off the project.

  • Until payment is made in full, the Client holds all materials as fiduciary, bailee, and agent for Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd.

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. reserves the right to recover unpaid goods, including entering the Client's premises if necessary.

7. WARRANTY AND CERTIFICATION

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. provides a 10 Year Workmanship Warranty from the completion date of installation. Extended warranties may incur additional charges.

  • Manufacturer warranties for components such as glass, powder coating, hardware, and automatic operators apply as specified by their respective manufacturers.

8. VARIATIONS

  • Any variations to the scope of work must be agreed upon in writing before implementation.

9. DELAYS AND DELIVERY

  • While Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. will strive to meet agreed timeframes, no guarantee is made regarding specific delivery or installation dates.

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. is not liable for delays caused by weather, site access issues, supplier delays, or events beyond its control.

10. TERMINATION

  • If the Client terminates the agreement after work has commenced, they will be liable for all work completed, including any cost for materials ordered/fabricated that cannot be cancelled.

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. reserves the right to terminate the agreement by giving 7 days written notice, with the Client remaining liable for all work completed to date.

11. DEFECTS AND DISPUTES·

  • Residential Clients must notify Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. in writing of any defects or concerns within 7 days of installation. If no notice is received, the work will be considered accepted and free of any defects.

  • Commercial clients (with Contracts with Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd.) are covered by a 12 month defect liability period from the date of practical completion. All defects must be reported in writing within this period.

12. LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. is not liable for any damage to property caused during the the removal of goods due to non payment.

  • The Client indemnifies Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. against all claims arising from such removal or repossession.

13. CERTIFICATION AND COMPLIANCE

  • All aluminium and glass products supplied and installed by Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd. – including but not limited to windows, doors, and balustrades – are manufactured and installed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, such as AS1288 (Glass in Buildings – Selection and Installation) and AS/NZS 1170.1 (Structural Design Actions).

  • The client is responsible for engaging a qualified engineer, where required, to ensure compliance with any additional structural, regulatory, or council requirements relevant to the project.

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd is not liable for any compliance issues arising from the absence of such engineering documentation.

14. GENERAL CONDITIONS

  • No part of the Agreement may be altered unless confirmed in writing.

  • Edge Glass & Aluminium Pty Ltd.'s standard Terms and Conditions apply unless overridden explicitly by another written Client agreement.

  • Any promotional images or examples are indicative only, and final products may vary based on materials and technical constraints.

  • Glass and aluminium products may have minor variations that are consistent with industry tolerances.
